Vacuum Pump Stations

SCCLSD has 4 vacuum pump stations to collect sewage in four different areas. All the vacuum pump stations are basically the same except for the size of pumps and the number of lines used to collect the sewage. The buildings may also look different on the outside, but that is just for aesthetics.

So let's look at a typical vacuum pump station.

. .

The ground floor is where the vacuum pumps are, the electrical control center, a vacuum reserve tank, some gauges, piping and a chart recorder. There is also an area for storage of spare valves and parts.Below ground, in the "basement", is where you find the collection tank and sewage pumps.
